Our client, an expanding State-of-the-Art Manufacturing and Cleanroom Facility in Waterford, now seek to recruit a Manufacturing/Operations Manager to join their growing organisation.
Manage the overall operations and hold responsibility for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set out for the Operations Department.
Select, recruit, coach, train, develop, counsel and discipline employees
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
Contribute operations information and recommendations for strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
Forecast requirements; prepare annual budgets; schedule expenditures; analyse variances; initiating corrective actions
Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilisation, inventory management and shipping
Analyse process workflow, employee requirements, space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, maintaining and developing standards and procedures; complying with all legal requirements, regulations and regulatory bodies
Meet/exceed operations labour budget expectations
Manage staff levels, wages, hours and contract labour
Responsible for all department Managers and Supervisors, with responsibility for all operations employees
Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
Establish relationships, contracts, pricing and SLA’s with key stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, partners, sub-contractors, utility companies, local government agencies etc.
Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are processed for payment
Serve as primary point of contact with customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints (Continuous Improvement)
Work closely with management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems
Communicate all operating policies and issues at department meetings
Work closely with the Inventory Manager and team to perform analysis of inventory and ensure company is utilising their inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data and reduce sub-rental expenses
Educational and Technical Competencies
Ideal candidate with hold a minimum Honours Degree level in a technical field such as Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering/Related discipline.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing Management/Supervisory capacity.
Requires a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with managing a significant segment within a multi-national manufacturing environment or have proven experience with managing the entire manufacturing operation for a smaller manufacturing organisation.
Previous experience with moulding/liquid injection moulding is highly desirable.
Lean Manufacturing and Cleanroom experience will prove a distinct advantage.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with competency in MS Office Suite / Google Suites.
Strong interpersonal skills, proactive approach, ability to work under pressure, demonstrated organisational and time management abilities.
Possess strong initiative and leadership abilities, be analytical in approach and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
