Our client, a multidisciplinary contractor, now seek to recruit an ambitious, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record as a QS with a Main Contractor to become part of their team. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to progress within the Company. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating all projects for our client’s Small Works Division, acting as Quantity Surveyor on those jobs and taking on a Project Management role alongside the Division Manager.

Level: Reporting to Senior QS & Directors.

Duties / responsibilities
• Full responsibility for estimating Small Works Division construction projects
• Purchasing duties for suppliers and subcontractors
• Project Management Duties
• Assisting in the process of sub-contractor selection
• Payments to subcontractors
• Preparation of claims for variations, valuations and final accounts
• Developing the division along with the Division Manager
• Identify new markets, clients and business opportunities
• Build Strong relationships with clients
• Implement new procedures for the division where required
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

• 3rd Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or similar
• 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main building contractor
• Strong IT Skills in MS Excel, Project, Word and Pricing packages
• Experience of a variety of contract arrangements and conditions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of “Conquest” package an advantage
• Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
• Should be honest, flexible, hardworking, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. The role would suit an enthusiastic, hands on and business minded individual
